I walk alone. This is my truth.

I've have always been a walker. According to my mother — who I admit is an exaggerator — I started walking at 6 months. The first time I took the streets alone, I was 8 years old. I had missed the school bus, and my mom had already left for work, and I didn’t have a way to contact her (this was before cell phones became ubiquitous). I decided to walk to the next town over where my aunt lived. It was a 30-minute journey that required crossing over 3 major intersections, and a bridge. I thought I was going to get in trouble for doing it, but once my mother realized that I could handle a trip like that on my own without getting run over by a car, I was allowed to walk everywhere — and so I did. My walks were not wasted. I spent a lot of time having full-blown conversations with God about everything. I didn’t care how it made me look. I had a brief period between the ages of 10 and 12 in which I had one of those no-secrets-do-everything-together friendships. I wanted it again,...

How to Take Advantage of Rotating Curiosity

What are you curious about right now? What frame of reference are you currently using to interpret the world? To understand what I’m asking, think about what you would notice in an outdoor plaza on a busy summer day. Would you notice the art installments? What about the strip of grass that is dead because everyone cuts across it? Would you notice the names and logos of the stores or the types of businesses that are operating? What about the people? Would you notice the homeless person on the corner? The books that people are reading? Or would your focus be trained on the clothes that people are wearing? At any given moment, the things you are curious about frame the way you see everything. If you’re starting a business, you would probably notice the businesses. If you are an aspiring artist, you would notice the art. If you love to skateboard, you would notice which rails don’t have knots on them. Life is an exam where the syllabus is unknown and question papers a...

What's your persistence saying about yourself??

(Quote courtesy: Ralph Waldo Emerson)  Many people assume that " image refers solely to our personal appearance — to our fashion sense, grooming habits and physical fitness ." Thanks to this assumption, fueled by various TV makeover shows, people tend to equate image management with fashion consulting, with the makeovers seen on programs such What Not to Wear. In my view, physical appearance is only one component of our image. It is one of a myriad ways that we express who we are (or think we are) to the world. Your image is your concept of yourself . This concept is developed in your mind, projected into the physical universe and, once the concept is “out there,” interpreted and acted upon by the people around you. Image is the collection of external messages that we communicate (intentionally or not) about our inner selves. We communicate these messages not just through our appearance, but through our actions, our speech and our lifestyle. Everythin...

Life is strange, isn't it?

People always say that they’ll stay and we, the broken ones, believe all their sugar coated lies just because they somehow happen to join the scattered pieces of our broken heart together. Everything goes fine until one morning you wake up to a text message saying, “Let’s end this” or “I’m no longer interested in us” or maybe not even a message. Just being silently ignored or blocked by someone who was on the top of your friend list. But getting no message is also a message, you know. Life is strange, isn’t it? You talk to someone for years. Every time you saw them online, it was in your wait or staring at your profile picture. But just after that one night, you find them online and somehow that ‘online’ doesn’t change to 'typing’ like it always did and you fall asleep in the false hopes that 'online’ will change to 'typing’. Life is strange, isn’t it? You still have those dark circles under you...

My imaginary girlfriend

Today as I travelling from college to my home by bus, a dark shadow was approaching me. The darkness of the shadow was so nerve wracking that for on instance I felt this can be the last moment of my life or this could be the end of this world. Sudden arrays of thought was running through my mind. I was thinking about my parents, my friends, my colleagues etc. And the last thing where I got stuck was my " imaginary girlfriend ". As I was thinking that she would be with me at that point of time. I want her to be in my arms so I can hug her tightly and can feel the warmness of her breath in my ears. Every breath she was taking was passing an opposing current in me and making me more passionate towards her. All of a sudden I took a step back, now I can stare in her eyes which were holding the whole world for me. I wanted to frame this moment for the rest of my life. The more I gaze in her eyes the more I was falling in love with her. For a part of second I got distracted b...

"Friends always mean a lot!"

Friends  are the most important part of our life!! this article represents the most amazing people in my life which I called my true BUDDIES. I'm here to share my memories related to friends whom with I spend my half life.. Same as everyone do. Everyone must have a good friends in theirs life. When I looked back and try to remember those years which I've spent with them I realized that they are worth loving. I started laughing on how we were dependant on eachother, and also get crying to have them back to enjoy the same days again...  We can consider them as backborn in our Young age cause they were our moral supporting factor. I must say that we need to pay them A Value "A Token of Appreciation" cause -  They are the first ones you call when you get  news of any significance. The significance can  range from life altering to a plain ‘meh’ but  they’ll listen to you all the same. You share the most embarrassing details about your ...

"There is no end of things in the heart

There is no end of things in the heart Someone once told me that She came from a poem she believed in. She understood it to mean that if you took something to heart, that really brought it inside those red velvet folds and then it would always be there for you. No matter what happened, it would be there waiting. She said this could mean a person, a place, a dream, A mission. Anything sacred. She told me that it is all connected in those secret folds. Always it seem a beautiful connection. It is all part of the same and will always be there, carrying the same beat as your heart. I am twenty years old and I believe it. At night when I try to sleep but can’t, that is when I know it. It is when all the pathways seem to connected and I see the people I have loved and hated and helped and hurt. I see the hands that reach for me to help me. I hear the beat and see and understand what I must do. I know my mission and I know there is no turning away or turning back. And it is ...
